Heritage Weekend September - normally 2nd weekend of the month. Various buildings open during the weekend.
Clarke Hall Aberford Road. Used as an education centre therefore opening to public is limited. The cafe and visitor centre open Tuesday - Thursday 11 am - 3.30pm. During the year there are various exhibitions and open days. D ltd H A. Tel 01924-302700

Pontefract Museum Salter Row. Open Monday - Friday 10am - 4.30pm Saturday 10.30am - 4.30pm Closed Sunday. Permanent displays + short term exhibitions., D ltd.+ Facilities for hard of hearing. Tel 01977-722740
Pontefract Castle Castle Chain. Open Monday - Friday 8am - Dusk, Saturday-Sunday 10am - Dusk. Small visitor centre + magazine tours. Various 'Days events during the year.H D ltd Tel 01977 723440
Sandal Castle The Castle Grounds are open daily from dawn to dusk but during winter months the gates are closed at 4.30pm. Visitor centre is open from 11am - 4.30pm Easter to October. November - April weekend only 12pm - 4pm. Parking on site but no facilities are available for coaches. Local bus services. D in centre D ltd in grounds. Tel 01924-249779
Wakefield Art Gallery Wentworth Terrace. Open Tuesday - Saturday 10.30am - 4.30pm, Sunday 2pm - 4.30pm. Closed Monday.Long term and short term exhibitions + special events and days.D (ground floor only) Tel 01924-305770
Wakefield Cathedral Open Daily. Small shop. D
Wakefield Libraries  
Wakefield Museum Wood St. Permenant displays + various short term exhibitions. Open from - Monday - Saturday 10.30am -4.30pm, Sunday 2pm - 4.30pm D ltd few steps into building and stairway to first floor. Facilities for hard of hearing and sight impaired. Tel 01924-305356
Walton Hall Once the home to Charles Waterton and now a hotel but you can take refreshment in the building and see the grounds. The Charles Waterton collection is on view in Wakefield Museum.
Waterton Discovery Centre Anglers Country Park, Haw Park Lane, Wintersett. Open 1st April - 30th September 1pm - 5pm. D ltd Tel 01924 863262
