Wakefield Family History Sharing
Newsletter December 2006
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Firstly, I hope you all had a Happy Christmas and hope that 2006 has been good to you in the family and local history way.
Secondly, May I wish you a very Peaceful and Healthy 2007 and hope that you find that a very good year for researching into your family.
As you will understand this time of year is a little on the busy side and therefore the transcribing for this site has been a little on the low side. I've been that busy that I only purchased my Christmas card 2 weeks before the big day and only managed to cook my Chrissie cakes 2 days before Christmas. My Christmas pudding that all seemed to appreciate was cooked on Christmas Eve.
But now to the purpose of this Newsletter. Since the last newsletter on the 20th of October the following have been uploaded. Some of you may already be aware of these additions but for those who haven't visited for a while here they are :-
22nd Oct Birkenshaw Firefighters Memorial in memory of those who lost their lives in a munitions explosion
23rd Oct Elland War Memorial
29th Oct Beckwitshawe Memorial
11th Dec Lossiemouth, Morayshire War Memorial

All these pages can be found on http://www.wakefieldfhs.org.uk/Whats%20new.html
Coming soon and hopefully of interest to some of you are :-
Bailiff Bridge, Featherstone, Knottingley War Memorials.
Also, a varied selection of War Memorials from Northamptonshire
Plus,
A photo gallery with info about some of the headstones in Becket Street Cemetery, Leeds
and
a very large collection of Headstones from Osset Parish Church
This is only a very small taster of the information that will be transcribed and uploaded over the following months.
But if there is anything that you would like to see here, please let me know and I'll see what I can do to help.
My very best wishes to you and yours for 2007
Carol
