May Newsletter
April was very quiet in the uploading of pages but very busy in the collection of images - which include :- over 30 French War Memorials ; Selby and surrounding area memorials ; North Lincolnshire memorials ; 6+ memorials in the area around Market Bosworth ; memorials around the Driffield area + visits to Eyam and surrounding areas where over 200 images of headstones in the churchyard were collected and memorials in the vacinity also collecting again over 200 images of headstones in Badsworth churhcyard. Both of the latter have been made into photo galleries and are available on cd's including a full or partial transcription and additional information where possible.
Talking about Badsworth and Eyam both of the villages war memorials have been transcripted and added to the relevant county. Both of the villages are very pleasant, both are famous in their own right. Eyam, where many died during the time of the plague and Badsworth for being the home of the famous Badsworth Hunt which dates back to the early 1700's. The Hunt was founded by Thomas Bright of Badsworth Hall - the family have a memorial plaque inside Badsworth Church.
