Morley & District Family History Group meet the 1st Wednesday of every month in the

Baker Room, beneath Morley Library at 7pm for 7.30pm start.

Non - members are very welcome to attend the meetings but are asked to pay £1.

Refreshments are available

Ann Jones Ann returns to enthrall us with her family. Renie 1901 - 2001 is the subject of this evening. Ann always brings along lots of family memorabelia to support her talk
March 4th Christine Ellis 'Clara Clarkson - a Wakefield ladies wardrobe' including a surprising local connection. Christine will guide us through a day of Clara. Christine always brings along samples from her extensive collection.
April 1st   Open meeting – groups resources available for research and committee members are always available to share their local and family history knowledge.
May 7th Nichola Fleeson Adoption - Adoption was not always set out in a formal way. Nichola will enlighten us in the various forms in which adoption could take place.
June 3rd   Open meeting – groups resources available for research and committee members are always available to share their local and family history knowledge.

Come along and visit us on our Open Day, take time to meet other fellow researchers, browse our library, undertake research using our fiche or computers.

Also available will be a help desk and other local groups + you will be able to purchase the groups publications.

You will be most welcome and we'll provide a cuppa

October 7 Joan Grundy 'On Death and Dying - did they really rest in peace'. From fear of being buried alive to the body snatchers did rest in peace really mean peace !
November 4th Alun Pugh Beckett Street Cemetery or Leeds Burial Ground. Come along and listen to Alun, a guide at Becket Street, inform us of who lies within its boundaries - the rich, the famous and the poor, those who died of natural causes and those who died from epidemics.     Recommended
