Heath Old Hall

The backwall and steps are few of the remnants left of the original building that stood on this site. The building dated from the 1500's and was built for a John Kaye. Locally the house is more famous for Lady Mary Bolles, whose ghost, the blue lady, is said to haunt the ruins of the building. The lawn to the rear of the building it is said, is where, during the civil war commanders of the army played bowls and were entertained by Lady Mary while opposing forces entered Wakefield from Northgate with little or no opposition. with permission from Mr R Ashworth
